Tomorrow’s the Big Day! A Few Last-Minute Worldwide Photo Walk Tips
Tomorrow’s the day! Thousands of photographers in cities all over the world will be heading out for my Worldwide Photo Walk, and I can’t wait!
I’ll be leading a walk right here in Tampa Bay, and we’ve got a really fun route planned. We’re starting on the far side of the Tampa Convention Center, right where the Riverwalk begins, then winding our way down the Riverwalk photographing some of the local architecture, including the Glazer Children’s Museum and Curtis Hixon Park. We’ll take it at a leisurely pace and wrap up around lunchtime at Armature Works, which is just such a cool place to hang out, with plenty of food options for everybody.
This has always been one of my favorite days of the year. We get to go out, make pictures, meet other photographers, make some new friends, and at the same time raise money for the kids at Springs of Hope Kenya. That’s really what this whole thing is about, and I’m so grateful to everyone who is walking, leading, and donating this year.

If you’re not signed up yet, there’s still time to find a walk (or lead one!) near you—registration closes at 12:01 AM EDT on Saturday.
Before you head out tomorrow, here are a few quick things to help make sure you’re ready:
Get Your Gear Ready Tonight
Charge those batteries, clean your lenses, clear your memory cards, and pack a backup card and battery if you have them. You don’t need a bunch of gear, either. Bring whatever camera you enjoy shooting with, even if that’s just your phone.
Check the Weather
Take a quick look at the forecast tonight so you know what you’re getting into. Sunscreen, a hat, rain gear, an extra layer — whatever makes sense where you’ll be walking.
Wear Comfortable Shoes
Trust me on this one. You’ll be doing a lot of walking, and this is not the day to discover those shoes you thought were comfortable really aren’t. 😉
Bring Water
Stay hydrated! Bring plenty of water with you, especially if it’s going to be warm where you’re walking. It makes a big difference in how much you enjoy the day.
Most Importantly, Stay Safe
Watch where you’re walking, look out for the other photographers in your group, and don’t get so wrapped up in making a shot that you forget what’s happening around you. We want everybody to have a fantastic day and get home safely.
Don’t Forget the Group Shot!
Please take a group photo during your walk! We absolutely love seeing all those groups of photographers from cities around the world, so share yours on social and tag us so we can see it.

And Pick Your Best Shot!
The 2026 Worldwide Photo Walk Contest opens tomorrow at 10:00 AM EDT, so after your walk, go through your images and pick your favorite. You’ll be able to submit one image for a chance to win some really great prizes from our sponsors.
