Lightroom Presets – Adding a Sunflare Effect

NOTE: Before you read this post or download presets (or leave a comment saying they don’t work), make sure you watch the video. These presets don’t install like most others do 🙂

There’s some pretty cool possibilities for creating presets with the Adjustment Brush in Lightroom. This week I have 3 presets that create a sunflare effect that you can brush on to your photos. It’s a little different from the normal Develop module presets, but I think there’s a lot of possibilities here for some create brushing in Lightroom.

First, make sure you watch the video below. It shows you how to install the presets since it’s a little different that normal and it also shows you an example of where you’d use them. Then, of course, you can download the presets by clicking on the link right here:
– Download Matt’s Sunflare Presets here.

Enjoy and let me know what you think. Thanks 🙂

Hi there, I am trying to download the free Sunflare Preset for Lightroom 4 and when I click on the download link it says “Page not found.” Are these still available? Can you post the link here in a reply to my comment?

Thank you! Your presets just bumped up my photography a bit. You have some that I wasn’t figuring out on my own. 🙂

To the risk that this was already answered…

I watch the video, place the files on ‘Adobe\Lightroom\Local Adjustment Presets’ and close LR4 and opened again, but it’s not working.
    Any help would be appreciated

    Regards,

    Rocke

Hi Matt, nice job with presets! But i have a problem too, i watched the video 5 times :), Windows, Lr 4, i go to edit>pref>show lr> go to the folder where presets are, double click them > windows is asking me about the program to use to open the file!

thx. Keep up the good work!

Hey Matt, I watched your video, and extracted the files and moved them exactly into the folder at preferences>presets>show lightroom presets folder>lightroom>local adjustment brushes folder….and I’m getting the same issue as everyone else. The files show up in my adjustment brushes area, but all the settings are set at 0, so when I paint over the image, nothing appears. When I tried to upload them the normal way, I got the error message. Not quite sure what’s up with that, or how to fix it.

Hi Matt, just upgraded t 4.2 (Windows) and this update no longer works. When I import it, I get the following error, “The preset file was the wrong type of preset.”

Other than that, all is well. Thank you for all the presets and everything you do!

    Hi there,

I installed it but just wanted to let you know that its not working. I think one other person had this problem as well

There are no adjustments on the presets everything is set to zero

I have as the same problem as above. I installed as per your instruction, but when i apply, there is no change to the photo, it luks just like a normal adjustment brush where you need to change the settings(exposure, brightness etc) by your own! I did not get any sunflare effect!! Please Help!!

Thank you so much for all the freebies and your generosity. You make our photography world gets better and better.

I especially love this sunflare set as it targets exactly at the sunflare spot in your picture.

However, i tried to download it a few times, all my downloaded zip files cannot be opened, giving me message that: “cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive” Could you please help?

      Adrian,

Pretty presets offered a similar preset free at one time. It was also for LR3.

Check their website to see if its still there for free.
