Any idea where one can download the files associated with the first edition of the book? The intro says that they are at http://www.kelbytraining.com/books/layers, but they aren’t.
Thanks,
Carsten
Carsten,
The book downloads have been added to the book page. Thanks for pointing this out.
Aaron
Web Editor – KelbyTraining.com
Carsten,
We rolled out a new Kelby Training site at the end of last week, so the look of the book pages has changed. The downloads are there. If you look just below Matt’s letter, and just above the videos, there is a line that says: Get all the Downloads Here (28.4MB). That is actually a link. Just click on it and the download should start.

Wow! Awesome video. Would love to get this book. And the video was so clear and HD looking. Do you mind telling us the format you uploaded the video in? Are you using your own site or using something like Amazon S3?
Seriously, it’s the best quality streaming video I have EVER seen!
Thank you so much!

Matt I always promote and recommend your book “Layers”. It’s excellent for most levels of Pphotoshop users and is the book where I “got it” on the concept of layers and particularly MASKing. But like any how to book you have to set some time aside to learn it. However it doesn’t take many pages into the book to start to get the pay off. Should be shipped with Photoshop as standard practice of Adobe sales. Hope you design some books for other areas of interest like the video work you do on Kelby Training. Thank you and keep up the excellent books, tips and videos.
How about “Cutting Through the Haze of Sharpening” or “Sharpening: Cutting Edge Techniques for a Dull Subject.”
Are the techniques discussed in this book applicable to the latest iteration of Photoshop Elements (9)?
Hey Dennis. Not really. It’s meant for Photoshop. Most of it will work in Elements but it’s a different interface and some of the tools i use aren’t in PSE.
I’ve started your book and love it! I had been eagerly waiting for it to come out because I knew I was ready to tackle Photoshop having finally become comfortable in Lightroom. I’m already feeling more confident in Photoshop. Can’t wait to get further in the book. Perfect book at the perfect time in my life. Thanks, Matt! – Lynn
I cant wait to get my hands on it!
Looks great!
Thanks!
