News – Lightroom 3.4 (and Camera Raw 6.4) Released
I know I’m a little late with this one, but I was on vacation with my family last week and took the week off from, well, just about everything 🙂 Anyway, just in case you haven’t read about it already, Adobe released Lightroom 3.4. There’s some new overall camera support as well as tethering support for a few more cameras (60D, 550D, and Nikon D7000). There’s also some minor bug fixes. The best thing to do is check out Tom Hogarty’s blog for the full write-up. And of course, you can download the update over at Adobe’s website or simply just go to Help > Check for Updates after you launch Lightroom. Have a good one!
Matt,
Do you know if I could add more camera profiles into Lightroom? I am a Canon user and there are more “picture styles” available than those that come preloaded into LR in the camera calibration panel? How do I add the ones not installed by default?
If there is a way, maybe you may want to do a small tutorial on the same
Thanks,
Sarkar
Has anyone noticed LR3.4 changing the white balance settings of your images as you browse through the catalog? It seems to be switching them to 4900K on the fly. It’s not noticeable on all images, but on the ones that I’ve tweaked, especially the ones that should be set down around 3200-3000K, the images switch as I scroll through the catalog. *Very* annoying…
I don’t know if it has to do with LR 3.4 or not but when I try and delete rejected photos the rejects display as before but I am not asked to either remove them from the catalog or delete them from the disk. Is this a new bug? I have never had a problem with deleting rejected photos before. Also the top line where the Minimize and Close buttons are located has disappeared. Could all this be due to one minor update?
Thanks
Hi,
now that we know that it is not layer in LR and that it’s easier to use that PS Element, the last point to be answer should be: why does the plugin cost 160$? The plugin is very limited in functionality (with respect to PS Element), it should cost much less…
Thanks
Opss the comment was meant for Perfect Layers, sorry….
There are a few bugs in 3.4. Unless you really need the update (to support your camera), don’t download it yet.
I got the beta version a few days ago and it works great. However, I did feel a little misled when it opened in a separate window, because it isn’t all that different from opening in Photoshop. I do see a great value for those who don’t have Photoshop.
Dude, you were totally mislead. You should absolutely demand to get your money back!!!
Wait, what’s that you say? You didn’t pay anything because it is a free beta that you can check out and see if it works for you?
Give me a break Brian, don’t you think you are being just a bit overdramatic?
Matt,
Hope you had a great vacation. I am glad you were able to take time off “from almost everything” – that is a very healthy thing to do! It’s glad to have you back though!
