Lightroom Presets – Fall Color

A couple of weeks ago I was out in the Colorado mountains photographing fall color (I posted some photos on my personal blog here). This past week I was in Portland, OR doing my Lightroom seminar and the colors were starting to change there as well. So I thought it was definitely time to post some Lightroom fall color presets for the season.

As I processed my fall photos I realized that I usually make the same tweaks to many of the photos. Whenever that happens, it makes it a perfect candidate for a preset. You can download the presets (they’re free) below. Also, here’s a few quick before and afters so you can get an idea how they look:

Have a good one!

  2. Hey Matt,

Are these identical to the ones to did last year? I have the ones you did a while back. Do I need to download these?

    • Hey Dennis – Yep, they’re pretty close. I may have made a couple of tiny changes, but I still use the same ones for the most part.

      • Hey Matt,

I decided to check them out and you did make some improvements over the LR 4 presets. So, I’ve installed the new ones! They work GREAT by the way! :-)

  9. Matt, thanks for sharing your presets. One question: how do I figure out how you adjusted the various settings, so I can learn what has been adjusted to cause the changes?

    • Thanks Mike. You could look at the sliders and see which ones aren’t at 0. That’s about it other than opening the preset file in a text editor and looking at the code that makes it.

  11. Nice fall presets Matt! I have tried a bunch of your presets and they all work great. Sometimes I leave the results as is, other times I tweak them a bit…. They help inspire an approach to the post processing of my photos a great deal. Thank you!
