  • Book em Dano

  • Thanks for sharing, very good preset.

  • Thanks a bunch for the presets – but now i’m singing that song – make it STOP matt! make it stop! “bah bah bah-bah bahhhh bahhhh…. dah dah dah dahhh dahhhhhh”

  • Just tried em out! Awesome! Thanks! :D

  • Great presets, as always. To Matt’s family, thank you, thank you!

  • great stuff–thanks for sharing

  • These are “No-ka-oui” brother.

  • the song was a great HS pep band song for games… right up there with the old Coca-Cola “i’d like to teach the world to sing…” and Budweiser songs… Ahh – the late 60′s / early 70′s again … mmmm

  • Thanks for sharing

  • Hawai something didn’t ring a bell rightaway on the other side of the Atlantic, but YouTube helped me out. Yep, that’s a familiar song that keeps ya humming ;-)

Hope I can give you a suggestion for another preset here as well… I recently started to create photobooks (yep, I’m a little late). Could you maybe create (a set of) presets that make our pictures nice backgrounds in a photobook (faded out, etc…)

    Thanks and keep humming!

  • Great presets Matt but darn you…can’t get the tune out of my head now…lol :)

    Cheers,
    Glyn

  • Yeah, thanks for putting that song in my head! I do that to my wife sometimes just before bed, lol. She really gets charged up when I do. Tonight it will be the Five-O theme and I have you to thank for it!!

  • As soon as I saw your title, the song started in my head. The presets look lovely…can’t wait to give them a try. Many Thanks!

  • I really liked the presets you created previously for hair, skin, iris, and lips in Lightroom 2. Unfortunately they don’t work with Lr3. Any chance of you updating them so they will work for Lightroom 3?

  • Great set even if we have to be stuck with the earworm! Thanks Matt!

  • Hey Matt,
Sorry I did not know where to throw this question so I left it here hoping it finds you well. Is there any preset or any easier way to find photos and tag them for later printing in lightroom? I’m asking this because when clients submit a big list of photos for printing, I find myself typing in the filename in the search box one by one then tagging or flagging them one at a time. (Afterwhich, I turn on the 1 star filter (I tagged them 1 star) so LR shows only those I tagged for export then printing) Thanks!

    • Try this: 1. Create a ‘Client Prints’ collection & make it your target collection. 2. Select the files you want and add them to the collection. 3. Select the ‘Client Prints’ collection and head on over to the print module. 4.Print away. 5. When you’re done with it, you can remove the files and delete the ‘Client Prints’ collection or keep it around for future projects. I hope that works for you.

I think collections are one of the most useful features in LR. You can organize them in hierarchies (like folders) and you can put the same file in several different collections. I’ve even seen smart collections used to automatically track workflow, something I need to develop for myself.

  • The best type of sharping for different situations ie. landscape verus portraits

  • I guess I am different from most Lightroom users. I want my photos to look better, not freaky.

    • I agree!

  • By the way.. The song was composed by Morton Stevens and he actually won two Emmy awards for it!

  • Thanks Matt I love when you post presets.

  • Great presets, Matt. Thank you.

  • Thank you so much! Have a great weekend :)

  • I really liked the presets you created previously for hair, skin, iris, and lips in Lightroom 2. Unfortunately they don’t work with Lr3. Any chance of you updating them so they will work for Lightroom 3?

  • These presets are great, thanks for sharing, very kind! :-)

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • Great theme song but not all that happy with the presets – still you are always the go-to site for Lightroom. Presets are always a matter of taste and application.

  • I have dowloaded the WOW presets for lightroom.I have found the Iris brighten.teeth brighten. eyes sharpen.skin soften.skin darken. but I cannot get the ones I really want, background blow out and darken . HELP please ??

  • Please help! I have tried to do this 20 times, and can’t. I don’t think I am un-zipping the files and then when I am in develop module and right click in preset box, it only gives me “export” and “new folder” options. There is no “import” option

  • Thanks as always Matt! I’ve developed many of my own presets over time…and I have to say yours are the only ones I ever download and use from online…always great stuff!

  • Brooke – are you on a Mac? If so, download the file as above and unzip it by double clicking it in the download box, then go to Lightroom, drop down the Lightroom preferences menu, go to ‘presets’ click the ‘Show Lightroom Presets’ box then drag the ‘Hawaii 5O folder onto the Develop Present folder, close and re-open Lightroom, and the Hawaii 5O presets will be there with the others.

  • Merci …. thank you …

  • Love it! Thanks!

  • Love the preset days Matt. Thanks bro.

  • Love these & love the new Hawaii 5-0!!

  • Thank you very much for sharing the free presets. I have not watched the new show at all, and can’t even think of the theme song, but was happy to get the
presets, and anxious to try them out.

  • I don’t get an import dialog when I right click (on a Mac) in my presets menu. any idea? I feel like an idiot.

    thanks

    • Shawn – see above for mac loading of presets.

  • Here ya go, Matt. Enjoy
