Thursday Inspiration
It’s been a while since I’ve posted an inspirational website so here’s two to make up for it. The first one kind of struck a personal chord with me because I love to play golf. Back in the early and mid 90’s I used to practice 4-5 times a week and play at least twice a week all year round (the perks of living in Florida 🙂 ). The late 90’s came and I got married and had kids so golf has taken a back seat. Even though I don’t play nearly as much as I’d like, I still love the sport. Nothing is quite as breathtaking to me as standing at an awe-inspiring golf hole and Aidan Bradley’s golf course photography does a great job of capturing that feeling.
Now, if golf and landscapes aren’t your cup o tea, you’ve got to check out Rastmansar’s Flickr photos. He was recently showcased on the Strobist for an amazing photo of a volleyball play and that got me into looking at his portfolio on Flickr. Wow! Very cool stuff. You’ll definitely be impressed no matter what styles you’re into. That’s it for today. See you tomorrow to wrap up the week.

Matt,
I recently watched your (and Scott’s) “$1000 Question” video at Peachpit. I was wondering if you could give recommendations on an affordable travel ballhead/tripod set. I’d love to get something decent for around $100 (I know that may be nearly impossible) but at least under $200 combined. I know Scott mentioned spending $90 in his video, but I don’t know if he actually had anything in mind.
Thanks for all you add to the Photoshop/Lightroom community.
Mike
Hi Matt,
Thanks for sharing and Happy New Year all! Rastmansar’s site is at http://www.robertbenson.com/ Yay, a SD-based photog’!
Now, a LR question: what really happens when LR automatically generates a ‘Library/Already in Catalog’ collection? I know it’s telling me I tried to re-import pics that were already in the catalog but what does this really mean? Did it re-import them,? Is the collection just a warning? Do you get rid of the collection by ‘right-clicking/Remove this Temporary Collection’? Does removing it stop LR to auto generate such a collection in the future? Does it remove the pics from the catalog? Hope someone experienced this already and can share 😉
Thanks–Happy New Year and try to find a bit of time to go golfing! Cheers–Flo.
