Come catch the Lightroom Tour in Boston, LA, and San Francisco!

Hey everyone! I’m heading up to Boston today to teach my Lightroom 3 Live! Tour tomorrow. There’s still seats so if you can make it I’d love for you to come on out and join me. You can find out more at Kelby Training Live.

Also, next week I’ll be teaching the same tour in Los Angeles on Wednesday (July 21) and San Francisco on Friday (July 23). Those are filling up fast so if you can make it out then sign up soon.

Just a quick FYI about the tour. Scott and I went through the entire tour from the previous Lightroom 2 version and streamlined our workflow as well as included all the new Lightroom 3 stuff. Basically, the whole day is about learning Lightroom step-by-step and our workflow from start to finish. So I hope you’ll come check it out. Make sure you come up and say hi too. I always enjoy meeting people from the blog. Take care! 🙂

    Hi Matt,
Sorry I can’t find a way to just email this to you and ask, but… why can’t I d/l any presets now? It keeps going to Kelby Media Group and says registration is disabled. I’m a NAPP member, does that matter? Thanks and sorry to bother you.

    Matt –
Just wanted to thank you for a fantastic presentation yesterday in San Francisco. My head was spinning (literally) when I left but I’m already feeling a heck of a lot better using Lightroom 3. Agree with Greg on the workbook – it’ll prove to be of great help as I stumble along.
    Thank again,
    Marianne

Matt, I attended Boston Seminar. Great information and workbook. I look forward to more in Boston and am ready to dive into LR3 and try to get my LR2 photo’s organized. My first task is backing up and getting everything into one folder. May be back with questions as I get going.

Again thanks for the great information.

LR3 – I just noticed the camera profiles on my system are dated in 2008, but I was getting really good results with the beta profiles that were dated in March that were part of the 3.0 Beta (2 I think…) – did these not make it into the final release ? I copied those specific files into the camera profiles folder for the D700 and they give different results than what I’m seeing with what was shipped… Any comment on this ? I don’t recall info that they weren’t going to be included….

    Thanks –

I highly recommend Scott’s new LR 3 book – excellent, better than the 1st two that covered LR… the section on doing frames with a transparent PNG (like your article in Photoshop User mag a while back) is particularly useful.

    Matt:

Really enjoyed your presentation yesterday in Boston. It was very informative and entertaining. And you survived all the “glitches” that popped up during the day! i was probably the only guy that actually said “Welcome to Boston!” to you, but I’m sure we all want to see you back here soon. I was not a Lightroom user that much, as I had found the program a bit intimidating, but seeing your workflow during the day made me a believer. Now i just have to start cataloging photos!!

    Thanks again,

    John

    Matt-

I was at your Boston “Lightroom 3” presentation today. It was outstanding- a great single-day introduction filled with helpful tips. The workbook that was provided is invaluable- it was nice to be able to sit back and enjoy the show and not worry about taking notes. I look forward to more Boston opportunities.

One question- the web address that you gave for the videos does not seem to be valid- would you please check it out?

    Thanks,

    Greg

I’m with some other posters and would love to go to the L.A. presentation but have a critical appointment that morning and would like to know if a DVD of that seminar will be available. It would be greatly appreciated by many I’m sure.

I’ve used LR1 through LR2.7 and still can’t figure out my catologues. I would not take the space here to elaborate. Maybe you can point me to some sites.

    Thanks,
    Allen
