Presets – Camera Profile Presets

First off, a big thanks to all of the readers/visitors who were at Photoshop World last week and came up and introduced themselves. I had a great time there and it was so cool to get to meet some of the people that visit/post here. Now, on to the presets… A couple weeks ago, I posted a video on the beta Camera Profiles that Adobe has released over at the Adobe Labs website. At the end of the video I mentioned creating Develop...

Presets – Edge Darkening

Today, I’m officially retiring my old edge darkening presets and I’ve converted over to my new ones which use the Vignettes panel inside of Lightroom 2. Not only does the Vignettes panel offer us the ability to darken the edges post-crop, but they just seem to look better, smoother, and overall less intrusive then it’s predecessor (the Lens Correction settings). Presets – Soft Dreamy Effect

First off, I wanted to give a great-big-huge thank you to everyone who posted comments on my photo update from last week. I expected a few people to reply and I got over 100 comments. Presets – Matt's Dramatic Sky presets

Most of the presets I’ve used that dealt with enhancing skies usually just enhanced the color. But I’ve put a few other things in these presets that specialize in making the clouds look better too. You can use ’em in photos with no clouds, but...

Presets – Artistic Tints Volume 1

Happy preset day folks. This time around I’ve got a few artistic tinting effects for you. This first volume focusses in on the red/orange/yellow/greenish colors. They’re great for those classic effects and you’ll find they work best on senior portraits, wedding photos, and generally photos with people in them (although I’ve used them on landscapes as well). As always, they’re free to download and...

Presets – Edge Lightening

If your first thought was “Edge Lightening?”, you’re not alone. Lately, the hip, cool, trendy, rad (insert your hip, cool, or trendy-like word here) is darkening the edges of your photos. Normally, I think it’s a great addition when used sparingly. Well, I started experimenting with the reverse – lightening the edges and the effect started looking really cool on some photos. Usually, darkening the edges...
