Tip – Get to Before/After View Quick

You’re going to love me for this one. I just figured this out today and it’s already one of my new favorite shortcuts (at least for a day – until I either a) forget it or, b) find a new one). Anyway, if you’re in the Develop module and you want to see a quick Before/After view of your photo, just press the Y key. Then press Y again to get back to your regular Loupe view. Yep, that’s it. Tips I Learned at Scott's Lightroom Tour

Yesterday, I finally got the chance to watch Scott Kelby teach his Lightroom Live tour (click here if you want to see some photos I took). He’s always on the road teaching the tour and I’m always working so I’ve never been able to catch it. He was in our backyard the other day (Tampa Convention Center) so I went over to watch. Wednesday Inspiration – Patrick Hoelck Photography

This week’s gallery spotlight is on Patrick Hoelck photography. I came across Patrick’s portfolio about a year ago and just found it again today. I love this kind of stuff! Daryl (just trying to do a nice thing) wrote in on the feedback form on this site and said this: “… (nice stuff about me)… When using the...

Friday Tip – The Hover Tip

I love demoing this tip in front of crowds because it always incites lots of oooos and ahhs. I call it the “Hover anywhere” tip. One of the things that’s always a pain is when you have to actually apply a setting, only to find that you don’t like it. Then you’ve got to press Ctrl/Cmd – Z to undo. In Lightroom, there’s quite a few places that you can preview what your photo is going to look...

Friday Tip – Split Tone Color Preview

Here’s why today’s tip is so important. When you use the Split Tone panel you pretty much have to guess at which color you’re dragging the Hue slider to (unless you have super-secret microscopic vision and can tell by the small preview). So you would normally have to drag the Hue slider and then drag the Saturation slider to see the color. But, as you can imagine, Lightroom is full of tiny hidden shortcuts that,...
