Hey folks,
I figured the Capture NX question would come up. It’s pretty simple. I know we all live in the Adobe world but believe it or not, a lot of people use Capture NX. It comes bundled with some Nikon cameras and honestly, when people ask it’s often difficult to argue “free”. So, we could just let some third party person do all of our Capture NX tutorials since we personally use Adobe products, or we could drop in a tutorial here and there for those folks that use it.
No we’re not converting and you’ll notice I picked my words pretty carefully when introducing the tutorial. I said that I was going to show what I think is a big feature of Capture NX and I do indeed think that. That U-Point stuff is nice!

Enjoyed the new Nikon tips. Been shooting Nikons for 4o years now, but I got a couple of helpful tips first time out.( I hate reading the fine print in manuals.) Keep em coming. Great job!

I think this is great! You and Scott do such great stuff and I’m a Nikon shooter, so this seems like an awesome new thing. Can’t wait to see what all you guys do.

I do echo Nathan’s question/concern about Capture NX, I do think the “U-Point” technology is great, but I’ve never wanted to add one more step and software application if it’s not needed. I understand it’s a Nikon sponsored show (I also understand if you then are obligated to show off their software) but does Capture NX really make it into your workflow?

Great first show though! I look forward to the next. Thanks for giving us one more avenue of great information!

Hey Matt. Great to see that in addition to promoting the best post-processing software out there (Lightroom), you’re also a Nikon shooter!

What confused me, however, is that you’re doing demos with Capture NX when, aside from the selective color adjustments you can make in Capture NX, the software is laughable in comparison to Lightroom in processing efficiency. It just felt like you were taking a step back and I was surprised.

Hey Matt,
To my disaapointed, I dont see any of those has created the close captions/ subtitle. How will others understand if someone has interesting with your podcast? I am very interesting to learn new things if you just double think about the SUBTILE. Please do think of it twice as we hard of hearing has hard time to understand. Hearing people has more freedom than the hard of hearing. Please go by the ADA LAW which requires close captions/subtitle. I wont write again until your company thinks about it.

I loved the show and will use the Live View white balance.

Matt: FYI – I own the D50 and D90 and I have never had to change any settings to use the command dial in preview mode to scroll through my pictures using the command dial. They both had that functionality right out of the box.
