I was pleasantly surprised of how informative D-town was. I expected a very basic lesson for soccer mom shooters. I am really looking forward to future broadcasts. I am still unclear as how to easily take my NEFs out of lightroom into Capture NX. I would prefer to work on raw files rather than TIFFs. (no offense to the soccer moms!)

Whether you are a Canon, Nikon or some other camera user, the two videos Matt posted on DtownTV presented a way for everyone to use Lightroom as their primary post-processing tool and then export to Capture NX2, taking full advantage of some features it has - including control points! Last I looked, Capture NX2 was selling between $100-140, far cheaper than Viveza. I tried it out and it functions seamlessly after you add Capture NX2 as another exteranl editing program in Lightroom preferences. Now I can go LR>Photomatics>LR>Capture NX2>LR and still have Lightroom do all the conversions and keep track of resultant TIFF files.

Okay. Good. Next time a post in this Lightroom blog is not related to Lightroom, maybe it can give a hint to us non-Nikon users what connection - if any - there is to Lightroom?

Can vi agree on that? :-)

I really enjoyed both videos and then headed over to kelbytraining.com and watched your HDR course. Thanks so much. I really enjoy your teaching style. And... I post-processed my HDR practice shots in Lightroom.. so yes.. I do see this as a relevant post on this blog.

Jeff Powell: Yes, I do have a choice. So has Matt. I'm just giving my opinion. You can always turn off your tv if you don't like a show - or go to another channel. However, I guess both Matt and other people want to here from us instead of losing us.

Ah.

Well I think I agree with you. As a Canon user, it is of little value to me to see a link to a Nikon only (value) website as part of this Lightroom Blog.

On the other hand, I do acknowledge that Nikon people require more help :-)

@funky.... You do realize YOU have the option to read an individual blog posting or not. The title pretty gives away what the content is...so no one forces you to read misc subjects that Matt feels like posting. Besides, in the new episode he does show some Lightroom integration with Photomatix.. So yeah, it's even relevant :)

No offense Mike, but I really feel that this is a Lightroom blog. I know, it's your blog and you can do whatever you want with it. But there is a reason why different subjects have different blogs. That's the whole idea with them. Just keep that in mind, because as a blog reader I want to choose my subjects and my guideline is the content of the blogs.

Keep up the good work. I like both this blog and the Nikon D-Town show - just keep them separated.
