I am new to LR3, and I am looking for a detailed instructions as how I get music from Itunes into the the slide show section of LR3. Please advise.

Do you have any idea if LR3 can be used with non-Intel Macs like a G5? Also, will I be able to upgrade from LR1 directly to LR3?

Hello.

I have a question for you. I do not own any version of Lightroom (I have Elements however). I do have the trial version of Lightroom 2, and the Beta of Lightroom up and operating however.

I love Lightroom (as opposed to using iPhoto) and will most certainly be buying it.

Here’s the question.

IYHO, should I simply use the Beta as my main program till it expires then buy Lightroom 3, or should I purchase Lightroom 2 and upgrade when the time comes?

I do not want to loose all my edits (I will back up the originals of course), so I hesitate to use the Beta as my main program.

I’m pretty low volume on pictures (family, sporting events, scenery, HDR, etc), processing maybe (thinking….) between 1000-2000 photos a month. Give or take, depending on how much time I have on hand.

I know there are no guarantees with a Beta, period. But if you were me, what would you do?

The purpose of beta program is to discover bugs. Importing a “175,000 image catalog” is a good way to test the program in real-world conditions IMHO. After all, you’ll always have your LR2 catalog untouched in case of LR3 crashes.

You people complaining that existing light room catalogues cannot be imported to LR3 beta are missing the point – the beta exists as a test bed for the new product – thousands of beta users find problems quicker than Adobes engineers. It is not intended to be a fully functioning product – it could have bugs etc – you dont want to put your “175,000 image catalog” in a beta program that may contain flaws. If it was a fully rounded ready for market product that did everything you wanted, youd be paying for it!

LR2 runs in 64-bit mode on Win7 / Vista as well.

HD video just option to add 1 mp3. Contrary to Photoshop Elements no possibility for start/stop position, fit to mp3, etc.
HD video burned to DVD, doesn’t play music fluently.
Import is more difficult, at least for me as an advanced user.
In fact I do not see great advantages comparing with LR2. Also the noise reduction gives the same result when I correct a photo in LR2 and LR3.
