Thanks for the video, Matt!

I store my LR catalog on an external drive so that I can use it on 2 different machines (one Mac and one PC). Therefore I store my LR presets with the catalog so that the same bunch of presets are always available, no matter which machine I’m working on.

I would like to know if anyone has changed the cache settings, perhaps to a larger size and/or a different drive.

Hi Matt I read not only your Killer Tips, but also bought the on-line Kelby training where you have gone over Lightroom2. In those videos you say that when you send a file over to Photoshop CS3 play then want it back into LR2 all you have to do is hit SAVE and LR will do all the rest. ….my copy does not. It will save that tiff file in the folder that I imported the rest of the photos from but I find that I have to physically import the output tiff file from CS3 into LR2 if I want to use it. Is there a place in preferences in LR that I need to change? I can not find it. My original LR imported back without any problems.

Hi Matt
I am very new to lightroom and have 1 request HELP. I can import and stuff ,but I am confused ,when I am all do editing and want to use only my edited photos do I export those to my C drive.. I guess my question is what should I do after I am all done with my final photos.

Hey Matt,

one thing I have not heard anything about is…

Are your lightroom 1.4 catalogs compatable in lightroom 2?

I recall there being some issue with them when LR2 beta came out.
And are the lightroom 2 beta catalogs compatable also?

Matt,
I am having problems with my workflow using Lightroom and Bridge. I figured out how to link Lightroom and Bridge so any changes will be reflected. But when I notice Bridge has been updated to reflect Lightroom, I don’t get the same changes/adjustments on my actual harddrive files. Do you know how to do this? Or do you just have to export from Lightroom everytime to update the actual file? Thanks!

Hi Matt:

Nice video.

I tried the set auto tone preference and found it unusable since it is applied to TIFF’s being imported into the catalog, such as when editing in an external editor. It generally causes the TIFF to differ from your carefully adjusted RAW.
