Presets – Lomo Arigato (Mr. Roboto) Version 2

I’ve updated one of the really popular presets here on the site – the Lomo effect. This one is based on a Lomography effect, hence the name “Lomo”. I know the weak Styx reference is pretty bad but whenever I here the name Lomo that’s what I think. Anyway, Lomography really has it’s roots in an old camera that produced a certain styled photo (you can read more about it here if you’d like). A while back I released a preset for the effect but it was missing something that just wasn’t possible in Lightroom 1 – a soft focus effect. With Lightroom 2 we can definitely come closer with negative clarity so I’ve updated it and even added another preset (1 for soft blur and one for a stronger blur). I’ve also updated the vignetting to use the Post-Crop feature in LR2.

One more thing. This adds a soft blurring effect to the photo. If you ever wanted to remove the effect from a certain part of the photo (someone’s eyes or face for example), make sure you check out this video I did a while ago. See ya!
